Megan spent the week with her folks while I was in SF. They had a fine time, eating well, relaxing and showing off Maeva to LC. Then I got off the plane and drove down to join them. More good food & beverage and just general relax. Lowell and I wet a line (2 catfish). Then home after 10 days away. Newly seeded grass is growing green.

Maeva wears her stylin’ outfit from Auntie Kylie of New Zealand.

I visited Jerry’s impressive homebrew biodiesel station while in LC. He has been working hard at perfecting his own particular recipe (in 20 gal. batches!) and seems to have it down save for a little moisture in the final product. The water eventually settles out though and Jerry gets rid of it by cycling it through the cleaning tank. He was kind enough to give us 4 gallons of his Grade A “Reserva Especial,” which we poured directly into the tank of the V-dub. He is able to brew his own fuel (from spent restaurant grease) for $1.60/gallon. There’s a bumper sticker on Jerry’s old Ford (diesel) pickup which sums it up nicely: “Praise the Lard.”
